In this Japanese character, I wanted to combine modernity with tradition. The Bangasa (umbrella) she is holding is not paper-made but of plastic material, although the cane is made of bamboo, and the hairstyle she wears is not traditional but is still a very elaborate bun. For the dress, I was inspired by designers like Jeremy Scott and Alexander Wang.
The retopology was a challenge this time, because I wanted to do the dress in one piece so the rigging was easier, and this one has plenty of layers and pockets.
While doing this project I also created some materials like skin, leather or fabrics that will be useful in the future projects to come.
After all I can say the effort has been positive and productive.
